DIMA HERMIT
I was born in 1979 in a family of professional artists.
Following my father's advice, I decided to not make a professional career in art, and instead chose to become a hairdresser - a profession in which I became both a professional and an educator.
I began my career when I was 16 years old - hairdressing has taught me to work with form, lines, color, understand fashion, create images, change people and their lives. Art, as a hobby, has always accompanied me through life.
Over the years, I have been involved in fashion, jewelery design, creating collections of photos, videos, shows, paintings, drawings and calligraphy, until I discovered the world of digital art and the genre in which I work - digital collage.
My basic education is related to the professional activity of a hairdresser.
Graduated from "Graphic Design and Visual Communication" at the British Higher School of Design

I am a self-taught artist. More than 10 years ago I took a great interest in collage, working with Photoshop. It was through collage that I understood how my brain works and what collage thinking is.
By nature I am an observer, and until I painstakingly put together all the pieces into a whole, I do not draw conclusions and cannot consider the work done.
All puzzles must come together and occupy the place strictly allotted to them in my mind or on my computer monitor.
There are several processes running in parallel in my brain that may not be related to each other. Can you imagine how many things there are? And they are not lying there neatly on shelves, in boxes or archives, there are whole universes of chaos consisting of different junk, but this is at first glance, for me they are jewels.
Impressions, meetings, inspirations, flavours, music, shapes, textures, colors, scraps of thoughts and phrases, books, recipes, lessons learned and unlearned - in my mind I can find anything I need to create something new.
Collage thinking has taught me to appreciate and value the little things, to see their potential, because you never know when they will come in handy and what role they will play in your life.

GORGONEION
The GORGONEION series is inspired by the myth of Gorgon Medusa, the legend speaking about the transformation of a beautiful maiden into a ruthless monster, who, with a single glance, turns everyone who lays eyes on her into a stone.
The gorgoneion, an image of the Gorgon head used on various objects, buildings exterior, jewellery, and decor, serves as an apotrope, protective talisman deflecting misfortune and shielding from the unseen danger.
The unseen danger became a leitmotiv of this collection. Emotional violence and abuse, envy, jinx, hex, negative psychological impact, and other forms of hostile, destructive, malicious nature. Invisible mutilations, inflicted by a significant and beloved person, someone who has the power or whom we give that power, someone inherently petty, weak, and insignificant.
Addiction and codependence in love relationships, the theme of my creative research, which I reveal in the images-installations I create, filled with various obvious and hidden symbols that I invite my viewer to explore and unravel.
Almost every one of them reflects the triumph of will and victory over one's fears and powerlessness. The heroes of the stories I tell find freedom and safety, but in real life, unfortunately, they do not always have a happy ending.

Another Botanica is a botanical atlas in a series of works devoted to the observation and study of senses, to the feeling the world and embodied in the images of flowers. Flowers are fragile and short-lived, they bloom and fade, depend on many factors, they are the same as us.
Les Fleurs du Mal - is a collection is dedicated to the theme of narcissism and the spectrum of cruel, evil and destructive feelings experienced by a person suffering from this personality disorder.
Each composition is a metaphor of a personality with its unique entity, characteristic features, algorithms of actions, dependencies and defenses.
It is commonly believed that narcissists are people without a soul, with an inflated ego, loving only themselves, destroying their own live and the lives of those with whom chance and fate brought them together.
They are different and it is not their fault. Nature, circumstances and environment created them like this, they seem to be from another planet, where love and empathy don't exist, where the difference between good and evil, life and death are unknown. A predator, after meeting with whom your life will never be the same.
Have you ever wondered what made them like that? Why did nature or chance treat them so cruelly, depriving them of the happiness to be themselves, enjoy of life, to be with those they love and who loves them. The answer is simple and cruel - love, sick love, which was a lot, or was not at all.
Their eternal companions: loneliness, longing and eternal hunger, an inner emptiness like a black hole that cannot be filled, envy and devouring shame, fear of being exposed in their insignificance, complexes and defenses, light confused with shadow, unbearable pain and despair - this is the price they pay for every moment of their existence.
In the era of social media, the topic of narcissism has become more than relevant, our time cultivates unhealthy self-love, life for show, being who you are not.
Les Fleurs du Mal are not ordinary plants. It is impossible to touch them and inhale their fragrance, these are poisonous flowers. Toxic beauty, which can only delight the eye, at a distance.
